A buyer tells a salesman about his week, and for every part of it the salesman has a car, which appears on the road the moment he names it.
The Brief
A concept film for Cavalo Prestige, a prestige car dealer in Docklands, made on our own initiative to show how we would put a range this wide on screen.
The Approach
We wrote one conversation across a desk and one road outside. The two men, the office and all seven cars were designed first, each car from its own listing photos. The drive was built in 3D and timed to the dialogue so every car arrives on its name, and every shot was generated with those references attached. Each car the salesman names gets a card in the style of Cavalo's own website, and each road shot carries its own engine and tyre sound under the voices.
What We Delivered
A 56 second concept brand film at 16:9, with captions and a card for each car.
How It Was Made
Just About Everything is a concept film for Cavalo Prestige, made on our own initiative and not commissioned by Cavalo. Whatever the buyer needs, the salesman has a car for it, and out on the road only one thing changes at a time: when the buyer talks about where he drives, the road changes, and when the salesman names a car, the car changes.
The Cast, The Office And The Cars
Both men were designed first, each with a fixed face, and the office as two empty views, one behind each chair. Every office shot was generated with those four images attached. Each car was designed from the photos on its own Cavalo listing, in four views with the steering wheel checked on the right, and every road shot carried the sheets of the cars in it.
From Previs To Picture
Before any road shot was generated, the drive was built in 3D and timed to the dialogue. The camera leads the car, and each new road and each new car arrives on the frame where its word is said. The finished shots were generated over that previs, so they keep its camera move and its timing, with every car seen from the front.
