The story of a Sri Lankan jewellery house, told the way its pieces are made: from sapphires washed out of river gravel to a finished ring under the microscope.
A brand film for Ceylon Jewelry Manufacturers, a Sri Lankan jewellery house that designs, casts, sets and finishes its pieces under one roof. The film follows a sapphire from the river gravel where it is found, through hand drawing, CAD, wax carving, casting, stone setting and inspection, to finished rings and pendants on velvet. It runs 1 minute 50 seconds, was mastered in 4K and is told in thirty-one moments, each one made first as a still.
The film follows everything that happens under one roof, from the mine to the export crate. We wrote it as a run of moments, made every one of them as a still first, then brought each still to life and cut them into the finished film.
