One sip at a late-night servo turns a tradie's plain white ute into a drift car and the servo into a floodlit drift pad.
The Brief
A spec brand film for Flipside Energy, an Australian energy drink built around car culture, made to show how we would put the brand's world on screen.
The Approach
We started on an ordinary night shift at a servo and let one sip flip it into a floodlit drift pad, where his plain ute turns into a wrapped Maloo. The man, the can, all three cars and the pad were fixed as reference sheets first, then every shot was generated with them attached.
What We Delivered
A 1 minute 11 second brand film at 16:9.
How It Was Made
Flipside's own line is about flipping the ordinary, so the film starts on the most ordinary moment we could think of: a tradie on a night shift at a quiet servo. The man, the can and all three cars were fixed as reference sheets before a single shot was made, so they stay the same from the servo to the drift pad and back.
The Cast And The Cars
Everything that appears in more than one shot was designed first and fixed as a sheet: the man from every side and with every expression the film needs, the can, the ute before and after, the purple Walkinshaw and the drift pad.
